Ministry of Health has revealed that plans are underway to formulate a law to regulate blood transfusion services amidst concerns about selling blood to people in need.

Uganda was chosen to host the Global Blood Transfusion Congress not only to celebrate Uganda’s strides in blood transfusion services but also to strengthen the safe and sustainable blood services in Africa.

Good precedent from Kenya

A Kenyan court has ruled that Facebook’s parent company Meta can be sued in the East African nation. In a Monday morning ruling by the Employment and Labor Relations Court, Justice Jacob Gakeri declined to strike out Meta Platforms Inc and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd from a case filed by a former South African Facebook moderator Daniel Motaung, who has sued the social technology company over a toxic work environment. Is this a good precedence for Western tech giants in Africa?

A judge was shot dead by gunmen during a court session in Imo state, Nigeria. Judge Nnaemeka Ugboma was shot while presiding over a court session by gunmen who entered on a motorcycle. The attack brought the court session to an end as lawyers, court staff and clients fled the scene. How protected are court buildings in your country?
