Be part of the conversation on Wednesday 28th April, 2021, at the Lower Auditorium School of Law Makerere as Makerere School of Law in collaboration with Rights and Peace Center & Network of Public Interest Lawyers - NETPIL seek to answer the question of judicial independence and judicial impartiality. They ask the hard questions such as this; In a country where recourse to court is always resounded, but there are pockets of doubt on the independence and impartiality of the bench, can the situation be salvaged, to return public confidence in the courts?

Today morning, NETPIL Health Rights & Disability Rights thematic working groups led by the Vice Chair of the Advisory Committee - Barbara Lamara, petitioned Parliament through the LoP on the matter of a delayed Appointment of a Commencement Date for the Mental Health Act. Hon. Betty Aol Ochan promised to support and push for this cause before the 10th Parliament closes its business.
