COMMUNITY PARALEGALS & LEGAL RIGHTS (CPLR)
Community Paralegals also known as grass root legal advocates provide a bridge between law and real life. REDRC shall through this program equip the community members with the knowledge of the legal aspects; Family Laws, Labor Laws, civil Procedures, criminal law, evidence law, contracts and agreements, civil wrongs(torts), intellectual property, mediations etc., Our beneficiaries will benefit the following; acquire the awareness of the law, acquire knowledge on legal procedures/process, understanding of the levels of authority and navigate institutions, skills of mediating disputes, organizing collective action, advocacy, fact finding, investigations and monitoring skills. The target groups are; the poor who cannot afford the requirements for litigation procedures, the drug abusers who take law in their hands, the youth and families. The major objective of this program is to promote justice and combat lawlessness in communities which promotes social transformation and hence economic development. This will contribute to vision 289, 322, and 326 of Uganda's Vision 2040 and goal 371 of NDP III (Vision 2030).
