🕊️ DEATH CERTIFICATE: The Paper No One Wants, But Everyone Needs 🇹🇹

Losing someone is heartbreaking. The last thing you need is “system” blocking you because of paperwork.

Here’s 5 REASONS you MUST have a certified Death Certificate in Trinidad & Tobago:

1. **NIS FUNERAL GRANT** → Claim up to $7,500 from NIBTT to help with funeral costs. No cert = no grant. Money stays with government.

2. **BANK + LIFE INSURANCE** → Banks FREEZE accounts when someone dies. You need the cert to close it, access money, or claim life insurance. “I’m the wife” isn’t enough.

3. **TRANSFER HOUSE, LAND, CAR** → Property in their name? Lawyer + Court need the cert to transfer to spouse/children. Without it, house can’t be sold or rented legally.

4. **BURIAL OR CREMATION PERMIT** → Funeral homes + cemeteries CANNOT proceed without it. Hospital slip = not accepted.

5. **CANCEL ID, PENSION, PERMITS** → Stop ID card, driver’s permit, NIS pension payments. Prevents fraud + identity theft on your loved one.

TRINI REALITY CHECK:
❌ Hospital cause-of-death paper = NOT legal proof
❌ Obituary = NOT legal proof
✅ ONLY certified copy from Registrar General works
