Gazette #20 of 2020 recently released by the Judiciary.
It suspends all court matters, unless they are urgent and so deemed for hearing by the courts, for one month. Ending April 17th 2020
It allows those that must pay a fine, including traffic tickets within the scheduled period of closing (ie March 16th to April 17th 2020) to pay their ticket one month from the date the payment is due.
If the date falls on a weekend then tickets to be paid on the following Monday.
Bail matters that can be heard will be heard once deemed fit for hearing. If not they will be scheduled for the next adjourned date.
Members of the public that were meant to appear for jury service on the dates between March 17 2020 and April 20 2020 are now discharged and should not appear.
Those that applied for jury exemption need not appear for the hearing and are exempted.
Domestic Violence matters will be heard at the respective court.
Attorneys are discouraged from filing Letters of Administration at Probate Section.
All Attorneys are encouraged to use electronic correspondence where necessary in communicating with the court.
All directions or deadlines, time will cease to run until April 20 2020
