What do you know about the Rome Statute?
⚖️ The Rome Statute is the international treaty that founded the ICC.
📝 It was adopted at the Rome Conference on 17 July 1998, and entered into force on 1 July 2002.
🌏 It sets out the Court’s jurisdiction over the gravest international crimes: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression.
📘 Comprising a Preamble and 13 Parts, it establishes the governing framework for the Court.
📢 The Rome Statute turns 26 on 17 July, which is the Day of International Criminal Justice.
