Rights and privileges of the foreigner when obtaining Certificate of Residence (Permanent Residence in Thailand)
1.1 Such aliens are granted to stay permanently in the Kingdom and exempted from applying for extension of temporary stay.
1.2 Such aliens will receive Certificate of Alien Registration
1.3 The aliens are able to be registered their names as inhabitant in the household registration document (Thor Lor 14)
1.4 Such aliens are able to enter the same counter as a Thai citizen for Immigration Passport Control upon arrival and departure
1.5 A child, whose parents are both holding Certificate of Residence, born in the Kingdom of Thailand, must be granted to have Thai citizenship
1.6 Such alien are able to purchase a condominium unit with exemption of transferring money from overseas. However they are not allowed to purchase lands in the Kingdom
1.7 After obtaining Certificate of Residence, Certificate of Alien Registration and having their names registered in the household registration document for 5 (Five) years, the said aliens are able to apply for Thai naturalization
1.8 Such aliens are exempted from notification of their address every 90 days
You can apply for a Permanent Residence at the Immigration Office which the department has a quota for all expatriates applying for residence permits every year (about November –December each year). We suggest you to retain the professional lawyer who has experience in dealing with these matters and also can make guidelines for you in interview and completed applications.
Note: foreign applicant who has Thai family can apply this permanent residence cheaper than business purpose.
