!
Here are the 10 main offences and updated fines:

🚗💨 Speeding — Fine up to 4,000 THB (increased from 1,000)
🚦 Running a red light — Fine up to 4,000 THB (increased from 1,000)
🚶 Failing to stop for pedestrians at a crosswalk — Fine up to 4,000 THB
📱 Using a mobile phone while driving — Fine up to 4,000 THB
↩️ Driving the wrong way — Fine up to 2,000 THB (increased from 500)
⛑️ No helmet — Fine up to 2,000 THB (rider AND passenger)
🔒 No seatbelt — Fine up to 2,000 THB (driver AND passenger)
🪪 No driving licence — Fine up to 1,000 THB
🍺 Drunk driving — Fine 5,000–20,000 THB + up to 1 year in jail
💥 Reckless/dangerous driving — Fine 5,000–20,000 THB + up to 1 year in jail

🚨 ! Police Can Now Test for " " Without a Breathalyzer
(Announcement by the Department of Disease Control, B.E. 2569 — Now in Effect)

📌 What counts as " " under the law?

Type 1 — Drinking + Dangerous Behavior, such as:

- Staggering, unable to stand, loss of body control
Slurred or repetitive speech
- Mood swings, aggression, or inappropriate behavior toward others
- Strong smell of alcohol from the body

Type 2 — Smell of Alcohol + Any of the Following:

- Red or twitching eyes
- Impaired consciousness — confusion, drowsiness

🚔 3 Field Sobriety Tests Officers Can Use

1️⃣ Finger-to-Nose Test — Close your eyes, extend your arm, and touch the tip of your nose with your finger → Failure = suspected intoxication

2️⃣ Walk-and-Turn Test — Walk heel-to-toe in a straight line for 15 steps, turn around, walk back → 2 or more errors = suspected intoxication

3️⃣ One-Leg Stand Test — Lift one leg 30 cm off the ground, count 1001, 1002... up to 30 seconds → 2 or more errors = suspected intoxication

⚠️ Know Before You Drive!
This law gives officers the authority to assess intoxication through both " " and "physical coordination tests" — even without a breathalyzer device.

Following the directive of Pol. Maj. Gen. Sinlert Sukhum, Commander of Phuket Provincial Police, the Phuket City Police (led by Pol. Col. Chatree Chu-kaew) have initiated a "100% Enforcement" policy to reduce road accidents:

Zero Tolerance for Tourists: Foreign tourists caught driving or riding without a valid license will have their vehicles seized immediately.

Liability for Rental Owners: Rental agencies and vehicle owners will be strictly prosecuted for "allowing individuals without a license to operate their vehicles."

Active Enforcement: Traffic police have been ordered to increase checkpoints and strictly apply these measures to improve road safety across the island.

The latest major changes regarding laws have been introduced through the Act Amending the Criminal Code (No. 30), B.E. 2568 (2025). This Act was published in the Royal Gazette and has officially come into force since December 30, 2025, onwards.

Check these (Sections 284/1 - 284/2):

👄 : Using suggestive language, criticizing body proportions, or asking unnecessary sexual questions that cause shame or humiliation.

👀 : Leering stares, catcalling, making kissing sounds, or gestures with sexual connotations.

📱 (Cyber Harassment): Sending obscene messages, pornographic images, or leaving sexualized comments via computer systems or electronic devices.

🤝 : Touching or hugging without consent (if it does not yet constitute "Indecent Assault").

👔 : A supervisor, employer, or anyone in a position of authority pressuring a subordinate for sexual reasons.

What are the ?

General Harassment: Imprisonment up to 1 year or a fine up to 20,000 Baht.

Repeated/Continuous Acts: If it prevents the victim from living a normal life, imprisonment up to 2 years or a fine up to 40,000 Baht.

Public or Online Acts: Imprisonment up to 3 years or a fine up to 60,000 Baht.

Against Children (Under 15): Imprisonment up to 5 years or a fine up to 100,000 Baht.

Abuse of Power by Superiors: Imprisonment up to 3 years or a fine up to 60,000 Baht.
