On 19 May 2026, the Cabinet approved the revision of Thailand’s visa exemption and VoA schemes. These revised measures include
(1) granting only one visa exemption scheme per country/territory;
(2) revoking the 60-day visa exemption scheme for all 93 countries/territories;
(3) revising the 30-day visa exemption scheme for tourism purpose and reducing the list of eligible countries/territories (from 57) to 54 countries/territories;
(4) introducing the new 15-day visa exemption scheme for tourism purpose for 3 countries/territories; and
(5) revising VoA and reducing the list of eligible countries/territories (from 31) to 4 countries/territories.
Details and criteria can be found in relevant Ministry of Interior announcements, which will be published in the Royal Gazette and will take effect 15 days after publication.
Foreigners who are already in Thailand under the current visa exemption schemes and those plan to travel to Thailand prior to the effective date of this revision may stay until the expiry of their permitted period of stay. Thereafter, they may enter Thailand under (1) the new visa schemes; (2) bilateral visa exemption agreements; or (3) an appropriate visa which can be conveniently applied through Thailand’s e-Visa system.

EU เลิกรับเงินสดเมื่อคุณซื้อของเกิน 10,000 ยูโร เริ่มมีผลบังคับใช้ กรกฎาคมปี 2570

The New €10,000 Cash Limit
Starting July 10, 2027, it will be illegal across the EU to make or accept cash payments of €10,000 or more for goods and services.

Here are the key details of the new Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulation:

Who it affects: The limit applies to transactions where at least one party is acting in a professional or commercial capacity (e.g., buying a car from a dealership, purchasing expensive jewelry, or paying for construction services).

Stricter monitoring for smaller amounts: Even for cash payments between €3,000 and €10,000, businesses will now be legally required to perform customer identity checks (Know Your Customer/KYC procedures). You will likely be asked to provide a government-issued ID to complete these purchases.

Linked transactions: You cannot bypass the rule by splitting a large purchase into smaller cash installments. Multiple linked payments that add up to €10,000 or more will be treated as a single transaction and are prohibited.

Lower national limits: While €10,000 is the absolute maximum across the EU, individual member states are allowed to enforce even stricter limits. For example, countries like France and Spain already restrict business-related cash payments to just €1,000.

What are the exceptions?
The ban does not apply to private, non-commercial transactions. If you are a private individual buying a used car directly from another private individual, you can still pay more than €10,000 in cash, provided the transaction is not connected to any business activity.

Additionally, there are no new restrictions on keeping cash at home, nor are there limits on withdrawing or depositing large sums of cash at a bank (though banks will still run standard anti-money laundering checks on large deposits).

**Arrested at Suvarnabhumi! Pattaya Police Apprehend Chinese National Wanted in Transnational Fraud Case While Attempting to Flee the Country**
**Samut Prakan** – Investigative officers from the Pattaya City Police Station, in collaboration with officers from the Investigation and Suppression Sub-Division of Immigration Division 2, have arrested a Chinese male national. The suspect, wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court for fraud and forging official documents, was apprehended while preparing to depart the country at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The operation was conducted under the direction of:

* **Pol. Lt. Col. Suradet Imjai**, Inspector of Investigation, Pattaya City Police Station
* **Pol. Lt. Col. Thanet Saenghiran**, Inspector of Investigation, Pattaya City Police Station
Police officers from Investigative Operations Unit 2 of the Pattaya City Police Station, together with officers from the Investigation and Suppression Sub-Division of Immigration Division 2, jointly arrested **Mr. Ming Long Liu**, a 37-year-old Chinese national.
The suspect was wanted under the Pattaya Provincial Court's arrest warrant No. J.159/2569 (2026), dated March 16, 2026, on charges of:
> *"Colluding to commit fraud by impersonation, colluding to forge official documents and using forged official documents, and colluding to input distorted or forged computer data, either in whole or in part, or false computer data into a computer system."*
