🇹🇭 Thailand recently introduced a new immigration app called THIM, and naturally many foreigners are wondering:

“Do I still need to submit a TDAC?”

Yes, you do.

If you’re confused about the difference between THIM and TDAC, this post will help explain it in simple terms.

🇹🇭 What is THIM?
• THIM is a new official mobile app created by the Thai Immigration Bureau.
• It is designed to make entering Thailand easier and faster for foreign travelers.
• Think of it as a future “Immigration Super App” that may combine many immigration services into one place.

📱 What can THIM do?

1. Submit Arrival Information Before Flying
• Travelers can fill in their arrival details before landing in Thailand.
• This helps immigration officers receive information in advance.
• Less paperwork at the airport.

2. Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
• THIM works together with the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
• Instead of filling out paper forms, travelers can complete everything digitally.

3. Family & Group Applications
• One person can submit information for multiple travelers.
• Useful for families, couples, or travel groups.

4. Trip Management
• Users can view upcoming trips.
• Update travel information if needed.
• Manage arrival records more easily.

5. Notifications & Reminders
• The app can send reminders about deadlines, updates, or immigration-related notifications.

6. Passport Reading Technology
• The app may automatically read passport information.
• This reduces typing mistakes and saves time.

🚀 Why is Thailand launching this?
According to Thai Immigration, the goals are:
• Reduce paperwork.
• Speed up immigration processing.
• Improve security checks.
• Make travel more convenient.
• Create a modern digital immigration system.

⚠️ Important Things to Know
THIM is still being tested
• The system is currently in a testing phase.
• It is not yet a full replacement for all immigration procedures.
• More features may be introduced from 1 October 2026 onward.

THIM is NOT a visa
• The app does not replace a visa.
• If you need a visa, you still need to apply through the normal visa process.

TDAC is still required
• Foreign travelers entering Thailand still need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
• THIM is simply another tool to help manage that process more easily.

Future Features Being Discussed
THIM may eventually include:
• 90-day reporting
• Immigration queue booking
• Stay/residency certificates
• Other immigration services in one app
• Digital identity verification (e-KYC)

👀 What This Means for Foreigners in Thailand. Good News!
✅ Less paperwork
✅ Faster airport processing
✅ Easier travel management
✅ Potentially easier immigration services in the future

Things to Watch
⚠️ Still under development
⚠️ Not all immigration services are available yet
⚠️ Immigration rules and visa requirements remain unchanged for now
⚠️ Travelers should continue following current visa and TDAC requirements until official announcements are made.

🚨 Muay Thai DTV Visa Update 🇹🇭🥊

We recently received an important update from trusted Muay Thai Gum, Muay Thai Fever, following their meeting with the Sports Authority of Thailand / Board of Boxing Sport regarding the DTV Visa and Muay Thai courses.

Here are some key points foreigners, visa agents, and Muay Thai gyms should be aware of:

✅ The DTV Visa is still continuing.
However, the requirements related to Muay Thai courses are expected to become stricter.

Important updates shared:

• 6-month Muay Thai courses may soon no longer be accepted for DTV applications.
In some cases, applicants may instead receive an METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa).

• Muay Thai gyms offering DTV courses are now being inspected to ensure they meet proper standards for accepting foreign students.

• Approved gyms will receive official certification, and in the future Thai embassies may request this certificate during the DTV visa application process.

This appears to be a positive direction for the industry and should help make the process more professional, transparent, and reliable for genuine students.

⚠️ Please note:
We cannot confirm how much influence the Sports Authority / Board of Boxing Sport has over each individual embassy’s final decision. However, based on the information shared with us, we personally consider this update important enough to take seriously and prepare for.

Muay Thai Fever is now preparing for gym inspection and has already withdrawn its 6-month DTV course option.

While many people naturally look for the most affordable option, they do not want students risking visa rejection with a course that may no longer meet future expectations.

If you are planning to apply for a DTV Visa through Muay Thai, it is becoming more important than ever to choose a legitimate gym and prepare properly before applying.

📌 Planning to visit Thai Immigration soon? Here’s a quick June update:

Thai Immigration Offices will be closed on:
• 1 June 2026
• 3 June 2026

✈️ Good news: Airports and border checkpoints are still operating normally during these holidays.

💡 Also, if your visa/extension stamp expires on a day Immigration is closed, you can usually go on the next working day without paying an overstay fine. Immigration may add a remark stamp explaining the delay was due to the office closure.

It’s always a good idea to plan ahead and avoid last-minute stress 🙏

Chiang Mai Immigration Office announces the office closure schedule (Including the service counter at Central Chiang Mai) for June 2026.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

⚠️ Thailand Visa Exemption Update (Important for Travelers)

Thailand has announced a planned revision to its visa exemption and Visa on Arrival programs.

However, please note carefully 👇

🚨 The new changes are NOT active yet.

At the moment:
✅ The current 60-day visa exemption is STILL valid
✅ Travelers can still enter Thailand under the CURRENT system
✅ Nothing changes immediately today

The proposed changes will only become official after:
📌 Publication in the Royal Gazette
📌 AND 15 days after the publication date

This means:
✈️ Foreigners planning to travel to Thailand before the official effective date can still use the current visa exemption scheme.

Some proposed revisions may include:
• Ending the 60-day visa exemption scheme
• Revising eligible countries for visa exemption
• Revising Visa on Arrival eligibility

If you are already in Thailand under the current visa exemption scheme, your stay remains valid until your permitted stamp expires.

As immigration rules can change quickly, we always recommend checking your visa plan in advance 🙏

⚠️ Foreigners in Thailand: Using a Thai Bank Account? Read This 👇

This rule does NOT apply only to Thai people or Thai businesses.

If you:
• Live in Thailand
• Use a Thai bank account
• Receive money regularly
• Freelance / work online
• Receive money from overseas

👉 This information is important for you too.

Thailand may review bank accounts that look like “business activity” based on incoming transactions.

📌 Main conditions:
• More than 3,000 incoming transactions per year
OR
• More than 400 incoming transactions + over 2 million THB per year

⚠️ Important:
The system looks at the NUMBER of incoming transactions first — not only the amount of money.

Example:
• 300 incoming transactions = 5M THB → may not be reported
• 4,000 incoming transactions = 1M THB → may be reported

If the bank sends the information to the Revenue Department, it does NOT automatically mean you did something wrong.

The system may compare:
• Bank activity
• Tax filing history
• Financial information

👉 If you regularly receive income in Thailand, understanding your tax situation properly is important.

And yes — foreigners also need a Thai Tax ID to file taxes in Thailand.

💭 Final thought:
Trying to hide income or avoid taxes completely may create bigger problems later.

Learning the correct structure early = less stress in the future.

Before you apply for a DTV Visa…
read this or you might get stuck.

The part of DTV Visa that surprises most applicants

1️⃣ Additional documents?
Yes — and it’s NORMAL
Even if you prepare everything perfectly…
👉 The embassy can still request more documents

Why? Because after reviewing your file, they may need clarification on specific details

💬 And here’s the truth:
No agent, no checklist, no one can predict 100% what they will ask for

2️⃣ Interview request — it can happen
Not every case… but it’s possible
📍 You may be asked to: Attend an on-site interview at the embassy or join an online interview

👉 It depends on the specific Thai embassy handling your application

3️⃣ Timing is unpredictable
This is the part people don’t expect…

⏳ You won’t know in advance:
• If they will request more documents
• If they will call you for an interview
• When exactly it will happen

4️⃣ Pro tip (this can save you stress)
If possible…
📍 Stay somewhere close to the Thai embassy

Why? Because if they call you in you need to move fast and be available

⚠️ Note
This doesn’t happen to every application
But if you’re prepared for it
👉 you won’t panic
👉 you won’t delay your process

💍 Thinking About Getting Married in Thailand?
YES — foreigners CAN legally marry in Thailand 🇹🇭

But before registering your marriage, there are a few important things you should know 👇

Most foreigners will first need to obtain a document from their embassy in Thailand, such as:

✔️ Affidavit of Freedom to Marry
✔️ Single Status Certificate

(The document name may vary depending on your nationality and embassy.)

✨ Good news:
It does NOT matter what visa you currently have in Thailand.

• Tourist Visa
• Education Visa
• DTV Visa
• Business Visa

you may still be able to legally register your marriage in Thailand.

At MJ&Co, we provide family law and legal support services including:

📌 Prenuptial Agreement (Prenup)
📌 Marriage Registration
📌 Birth Certificate Services
📌 Translation & Legalization
📌 Family Law Support
📌 Other Legal Documentation Services

We help make the process easier, clearer, and less stressful especially for international couples ❤️

🚨 DTV Visa Holders: What Happens When Your 180 Days Are Ending?

If your stay under the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is almost reaching 180 days… don’t panic. 👇

You currently have TWO main options:

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📌 OPTION 1:
Extend Your Stay INSIDE Thailand
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

You may apply for a 180-day extension at a local Thai Immigration Office.

Things you should know:
• Requirements may vary depending on the immigration office
• Officers may request documents similar to your original DTV application
• Financial proof may be requested again
• Accommodation proof may be requested
• Purpose of stay may be reviewed again

You can:
✔️ Apply by yourself
✔️ Or use an agent to assist with paperwork and coordination

⚠️ Important:
Only ONE extension is allowed per entry.

After using your extension, you MUST leave Thailand before getting another 180 days again.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📌 OPTION 2:
Leave Thailand & Re-Enter
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Many DTV holders choose this option.

You simply:
✈️ Exit Thailand
✈️ Re-enter using your DTV

Then you receive a NEW 180-day stay.

This option is often preferred because:
• Less uncertainty
• Avoids extension review process
• Common practice among DTV holders

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📌 DTV Re-Entry Checklist
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✅ ALWAYS PREPARE:
• DTV Approval Letter
(save on your phone + printed copy recommended)
• Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

⚠️ MAY BE RANDOMLY CHECKED:
• 20,000 THB cash
• Outbound flight ticket within 6 months
• Hotel booking or lease agreement
• Proof of remote work / source of income

💡 Even if they don’t ask every time…
Always keep documents ready.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📌 VERY IMPORTANT AT IMMIGRATION
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Before walking away from the counter:
✔️ Check your visa type says “DTV”
✔️ Check your stamp gives 180 days

If something is wrong:
👉 Ask the officer to correct it immediately.

Because if you notice later…
you may need to return to the SAME airport or border checkpoint to fix it.

DTV is flexible…
but only if you understand the rules properly. 🇹🇭

If you need help reviewing your DTV situation, extension options, or re-entry preparation,
message MJ & Co. anytime.

📩 Comment “DTV” and we’ll review your case.

Just sharing from our experience helping clients with DTV visa applications lately 👀

Every Thai embassy seems to have their own “style” of checking documents, so here are a few things people should know before applying:

🇱🇦 Vientiane, Laos
If you apply there, make sure your bank account has shown at least 500,000 THB consistently for the last 3 months. They tend to check bank statements quite carefully.

🇮🇩 Jakarta, Indonesia
For applicants using Muay Thai / Thai Soft Power route, they may ask for additional proof such as training photos or evidence that you genuinely joined the activity before.

🇵🇭 Manila, Philippines
From what we’ve seen, applying through a 1-year Muay Thai training program tends to have a higher approval success rate compared to shorter programs.

Another important thing:
Your financial proof should make “human sense.”
It’s not only about showing money in the account, but also being able to explain clearly where the funds come from. A simple source of income letter can really help.

And please be careful with edited documents, AI-generated paperwork, or Photoshop.
Embassies are becoming more strict and they can sometimes detect non-original files. It’s not worth risking your visa fee or future applications.

Every case is different, and final approval always depends on the embassy officer’s consideration.
Just sharing this here in case it helps someone prepare better 🙏

Good luck to everyone applying for DTV visa
