Today we will talk about the interview.

Once your application is submitted, an interview date will be set. This gives the Australian Embassy a chance to get to know you, asks you a few questions and make sure this is what you really want.

Here's a few quick tips to help you prepare:
* Arrive on time...

* Dress well - not necessarily formal, but dressing nice offers a great first impression
* Take your time answering the questions. If you don't understand the question, no problem. Ask the interviewer to repeat it for you.
* Most importantly - RELAX! If you are relaxed, that's also makes you feel more confident.

What's My AL?

We now know AL (Assessment Level) is ranked 1 (lowest immigration risk) to 5 (highest immigration risk). This is based on two main factors: your passport and your level of study, i.e. vocational school, postgraduate, etc.

So where do you rank? For Thai students you will rank either AL 1 or AL 2. This is great news because it makes the task of applying for an AU student visa much easier!

This is a general assessment and can get you noticed, but the AU Embassy still views every applicant individually as well. Your application, documents and interview can help get that student visa in your hands!

What's an AL? Australia has 5 Assessment Levels that helps them determine risks. According to the AU Embassy, "Assessment Level 1 represents the lowest immigration risk and Assessment Level 5 the highest. The higher the Assessment Level, the greater the evidence an applicant is required to demonstrate to support their claims for the grant of a student visa."

This doesn't mean if you're AL5 you can't get a student visa, it just means we would need to work harder to get you there.

Hello again everyone!
Now let's talk about student visas. If you have already selected your school and been accepted then you're ready to start the visa process. It's a smart move to do this ahead of time to make sure you have plenty of time to clear up any issues. The process is a bit more complex than a tourist visa and cost more too. So take your time to make sure everything looks good the first time around. ;)
