A dispute between two U.S. nationals arising from a business expansion investment has now proceeded to the Thai Courts. The defendant failed to repay funds in accordance with the contractual agreement and subsequently transmitted falsified payment slips via WhatsApp in an attempt to misrepresent compliance.
Under Thai law, the importation of false or misleading data into a computer system constitutes a serious criminal offense. The matter is now being pursued under the relevant legal provisions.
