Reading today’s Business Times article about the future direction of PropNex got me thinking about how much the real estate business has changed.

The old idea of a property agent was simple: find a property, find a buyer, make the deal.

Today, it is very different.

We need to understand markets, financing, technology, data, different asset classes and, above all, how to help our clients make better decisions.

And I believe this creates tremendous opportunities for people who are willing to learn.

I’ve always felt that age should never be an excuse to stop growing. Whether you are 25, 35, 45, 55 or beyond, there is always something new to learn and another level to reach.

I’m also looking to build around me people who share this mindset — people who are hungry to learn, willing to work, prepared to embrace technology and serious about building a long-term career rather than simply looking for the next transaction.

You don’t have to be a property expert to start. You just need the right attitude to learn.

Sometimes, the biggest decision isn’t whether you are ready.

It is whether you are willing to take the first step.
