Today after duty at Springleaf Residences showflat, I crossed the road to eat Ampang Hakka Yong Tao Foo.
The auntie probably thought I very hungry. Actually I was there eating nostalgia with extra chilli. 🌶️😂
This was the place introduced to me by my dear friend Tyron Chua back in 2018.
He passed away in 2023, but some people ah… even after they’re gone, they still somehow appear inside your daily life through food, songs and random stupid memories.
The moment I took the first bite, suddenly my brain replay all the nonsense:
the lame jokes, random talks, disturbing each other like secondary school boys with adult bills. 😂
Life very funny one.
As property agents, we always talk about:
“location location location.”
But nobody tells you some locations become emotional landmarks.
For some people:
Marina Bay = luxury.
Orchard = prestige.
District 9 = investment potential.
For me today:
Springleaf = friendship memories and Ampang Hakka Yong Tao Foo. 🤣
Then I realize something very Singaporean:
We measure property by PSF…
but we measure friendship by “remember last time or not?” 🥲
Last time I dancer and performer, now become trainer analyzing charts until like stock market uncle at kopitiam. Everyday explain transformation story, future supply, demand, interest rates.
But one plate of Yong Tao Foo today reminded me:
Not everything valuable can be graphed on Excel and SuperApp.
Some memories don’t appreciate like condo prices. They appreciate quietly inside your heart. ❤️
