"We don't have enough money to need a Will." 🛑 If this is your mindset, you're setting your family up for a massive headache.

In Singapore, the default when someone passes away isn't Faraid, it's frozen assets. ❄️🏦

Whether you have $10 or $1,000,000, everything locks up instantly. To get it unfrozen, your family has to go to court:

🔹 With a Will (Grant of Probate): Fast and smooth. You've already chosen who manages the money, cutting through the red tape.
🔹 Without a Will (Letters of Administration): A much longer, tedious court process just to get permission to touch the accounts.

Don't let your death bring your family's life to a grinding halt. Leave clarity, not paperwork.

An investigation is currently underway after a 14-year-old girl was hospitalized following an alleged group assault inside a multi-storey carpark in the Somerset area. Police have arrested several youths in connection with the incident as videos of the altercation circulate online.

When youth violence occurs, Singapore's legal system balances strict accountability with rehabilitation. For offenders under the age of 16, cases are typically handled under the Children and Young Persons Act (CYPA) via the Youth Courts, where sentencing focus shifts heavily toward probation, parental bonds, and behavioral reform.

Is it pointless for Muslims to do estate planning in SG because someone might challenge it anyway?

If you think estate planning is just about who gets what, you’re missing the bigger picture. Estate planning isn't just a legal document, it's an act of responsibility to protect the people you love from chaos.

Here is why you should do your documents now:

• It’s a Map of Your Assets
• It Settles Your Liabilities
• Mitigating Faraid Challenges

How do you minimize that risk? Don't do it in secret. Involve your Faraid
beneficiaries early, get their written consent, and have open family discussions while you are still around.

Leaving behind clarity is the best way to ensure you don't leave behind a burden.

A dramatic enforcement operation unfolded at Changi Airport after a suspect
allegedly committed an armed robbery at a Marina Bay Sands luxury suite,
trapping a woman and child on a high-rise balcony before fleeing with luxury watches and cash.

The suspect's attempt to escape the country was cut short when his Shanghai-bound
flight was recalled from the tarmac just before takeoff, leading to his swift arrest by
the Singapore Police Force. He now faces severe criminal charges, including armed
robbery and wrongful confinement.

Can you start a Syariah divorce without telling your spouse first?

When a marriage reaches a point where you can't even face the conversation of splitting up, it is a incredibly tough place to be. We often get asked: "Can I just file the paperwork and let the court issue the letter to him?"

The short answer is yes. You can initiate the process independently.

Here is how the first stage works in Singapore’s Syariah Court:
1. The Online Registration
2. The Court Notification
3. The Counselling

When a marriage is ending especially if there are children involved—the goal is always to minimize conflict. A structured counselling environment helps lower the tension so you can focus on the next steps clearly.

If you are ready to take this step or need guidance on how to navigate a difficult family situation safely, we are here to help.

A police investigation is currently underway following a reported voyeurism incident involving a 9-year-old boy in a public toilet cubicle at Jurong Point. This distressing incident serves as a critical reminder for parents to have open conversations with their children about situational awareness and personal safety. Children may not always instinctively recognize suspicious behavior, and it is vital they know they have the right to immediately remove themselves from uncomfortable situations and alert a trusted adult.

If you are a mom navigating a divorce, you aren’t alone. Dealing with a matrimonial home and children is one of the most common sets of facts we handle in Singapore’s family courts.

This process can take anywhere from a few months (if amicable) to over a year (if heavily contested). 45 seconds isn't enough to unpack your specific rights to the house and custody so please, don't guess. Protect your peace and get proper legal advice.

A 67-year-old man has been sentenced to nearly 15 years' imprisonment for his role in the prolonged torture and culpable homicide of 19-year-old Huang Baoying in a Clementi flat.

The High Court accepted that while the man participated in the abuse, he had the least involvement among the three individuals involved and was heavily influenced by a rigid group hierarchy and coercion from his co-accused. The murder trials for the victim's brother and their MLM coach are still pending before the courts.

If you or anyone you know is trapped in an abusive environment, control hierarchy, or facing violence, please know that help is available. You can submit an anonymous inquiry through the link in our bio for legal guidance.
