Singapore has always welcomed foreign food. That openness is part of what makes our food scene special.
But openness should not mean losing our identity.
The question is not where a restaurant comes from. The question is whether it becomes part of Singapore ā or simply occupies space in Singapore.
Global brands bring choice, capital and new ideas. But local operators are competing with rising costs, deeper pockets and increasingly crowded markets.
Singapore should remain global.
But it should still feel like Singapore.
Be part of Singapore. Not just in Singapore.
Support local operators. Help local concepts scale. Keep Singaporeās F&B identity alive.
