Last week, our Partner ๐Ž๐š๐ง๐š ๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ฌ๐š and Counsel ๐•๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐ˆ๐š๐œ๐จ๐› attended the 30th ๐€๐ง๐ง๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ International Bar Association ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž in , bringing together competition law practitioners from across jurisdictions for two days of insightful discussions and valuable exchanges.

The conference offered timely perspectives on some of the key developments shaping competition law and enforcement, from AI and new frontiers in enforcement and the evolving approach to dominance and economic dependency, to the changing landscape of global merger control, shaped by considerations around resilience, investment, innovation and geopolitics.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of interim measures and remedies in fast-moving markets, as well as the evolving priorities of competition authorities and the increasing need for international cooperation.

We have advised eTravel, a Polish-based business travel management (BTM) company backed by Enterprise Investors, on the acquisition of a majority stake in Accent Travel & Events, one of the leading independent players in the Romanian BTM market.

The transaction marks an important step in eTravelโ€™s continued expansion across Central and Eastern Europe and further strengthens its presence in the region through the addition of an established Romanian business with deep local market expertise.

A second-year student at the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest, Gabriela joined our ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง and ๐“๐Œ๐“ teams, gaining hands-on exposure to legal practice and a first-hand understanding of what working at a top-tier law firm entails.

Today, weโ€™re sharing ๐‚๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐š๐ง-๐Œ๐ข๐ก๐š๐ข ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ข๐š๐งโ€™s perspective on his time at SAA, where he joined our M&A team and had the opportunity to experience first-hand what working in law entails.

From legal research and exploring new areas of law to taking on tasks reflecting the day-to-day work of our lawyers, Cristian describes an experience that allowed him to move beyond academic theory and gain a more practical understanding of how legal knowledge is applied in real-life matters.

Cristian particularly valued the people around him, colleagues who were always approachable and willing to offer guidance, as well as the opportunity to work alongside fellow interns in a welcoming and supportive environment.
