Last week, ® had the privilege of attending our very first EuRA - European Relocation Association Conference 2026 as members of the EuRA - European Relocation Association, which was held in Malta this year, and what an extraordinary experience it was.

More than a conference, it was a true reminder of what makes the relocation industry so unique.

Over the course of the event, we had the opportunity to connect with peers and partners from all over the world, exchange experiences, discuss challenges, share methodologies, and explore new ways of growing and evolving as an industry together.

One of the most inspiring aspects was seeing how forward thinking and dynamic this industry continues to be. Across the conference, there were countless conversations around improving the relocation experience through smarter operational models, stronger collaboration between partners, more efficient workflows, and the thoughtful integration of technology and AI into service delivery.

What stood out most was the collective willingness across the industry to evolve, adapt, and continuously improve the experience for both clients and global mobility professionals alike.

At the same time, one message remained incredibly clear throughout the conference:

This will always be a people business.

Relocation is deeply personal. It is about families, careers, life transitions, emotions, uncertainty, adaptation, and belonging. AI can absolutely help us simplify processes and improve experiences, but the human side of what we do remains at the very center of this industry and that is something truly special to witness.

Another highlight of the week was the industry gathering we co hosted together with our amazing partners at Relolink, Convera, CORT and Inter Relocation Ltd., alongside fellow industry peers at the stunning Radio Rooftop at ME Malta, located within the iconic Mercury Towers designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.

With panoramic views across Malta as the backdrop, the evening brought together relocation professionals from around the world for an atmosphere filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and shared perspectives across the global mobility industry.

And of course, one of the most memorable moments was discovering the EuRA band musicians and singers from within the relocation industry itself. A small but powerful reminder that behind every company, service, and global mobility strategy, there are passionate, creative, and deeply human people.

A huge thank you to everyone we met throughout the week. We return inspired, energized, and even more excited about the future of global mobility and the role moviinn® continues to build within this incredible international community.

Breaking update on Portugal’s law 🇵🇹

Just days after the approval of the new nationality law changes, a new development adds further uncertainty:

The Socialist Party (PS) has announced it will request a constitutional review of the provision allowing loss of Portuguese nationality as a criminal penalty.

This comes after previous versions were already partially rejected by the Constitutional Court on grounds of equality.

👉 What does this mean in practice?

The nationality law changes are still moving forward

But key aspects may be challenged again at the Constitutional Court

This could lead to further delays, revisions, or even partial reversals

📌 One of the most controversial measures:

The possibility of losing Portuguese nationality if convicted of certain serious crimes (e.g. terrorism, homicide, trafficking), within a defined period after acquisition.

⚖️ The debate is not just legal, it is constitutional:

Questions around equality, proportionality, and fundamental rights are back on the table.

What this means for you

This reinforces one key reality:

👉 Portugal’s citizenship framework is still evolving in real time

If you are planning your path to residency or citizenship, timing and legal interpretation matter more than ever. Speak to today.

For many people, Portuguese citizenship is not just a process. It’s a plan for the future.

A life decision. A family decision.

And right now, there’s a lot of noise.

You may have heard that the law is changing.
That timelines could double.
That requirements could become stricter.

But here’s the truth:

Nothing has changed yet.

A new proposal is being reviewed by the President of the Republic.
Until a decision is made, the current law still applies.

This moment matters.

Because understanding where things stand today can shape what you do next.

We’ve broken it all down for you in our latest article.

Portuguese citizenship law is changing, but not yet.

Here’s where things stand:

The 2025 proposal was vetoed by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

A revised version was approved in Parliament on April 1st and published on April 9th, 2026.

It is now with the new President of the Republic, António José Seguro.

He can:
• Approve the law
• Veto it again
• Send it to the Constitutional Court

At this stage, nothing has changed yet.

The 2026 proposal is not in effect.
The current law still applies.

This carousel breaks down:
• Current law
• 2025 proposal
• 2026 proposal

So you can clearly understand what may change next.

If Portugal is part of your plan, timing matters.
