Montaner Cordero directs the litigation department with the assistance of Ricardo Burgos Vargas. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, a juris doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, and a master’s in international law from George Washington University. Montaner has over six years of experience as a practicing attorney in litigation. From 1997 to 2000, he served

as counsel at the Department of Justice of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, representing local government agencies. As a state trial attorney, he handled tort cases in local and federal courts. From 2000 to 2004, he worked as an associate with De Corral & De Mier, L.L.P., developing skills in complex tort and malpractice cases.
