It resulted from the 1994 merger of Domínguez & Totti with the firm of Juan E. This brought together the litigation and employment law practice of the first with the commercial and tax practice of the second. The firm currently has eight lawyers, of which three are proprietary partners. It represents a broad spectrum of clients from Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, the United States, Europe and Latin
America, providing them services in areas such as labor and employment law, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, financing, corporate law, tax law, environmental law, antitrust, commercial and general civil litigation and bankruptcy. The firm has served private clients involved in almost every aspect of business in Puerto Rico and represented several governmental agencies such as the Government Development Bank, the Tourism Company and the Department of Justice, among others. The firm has represented clients before Commonwealth and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as before most Commonwealth and federal governmental agencies. The firm has represented some of its clients uninterruptedly for more than three decades. Founded in the late 1960's as the Law Offices of Héctor M. Laffitte, the firm, including its predecessors Laffitte & Domínguez; Laffitte, Domínguez & Totti; Domínguez & Totti; and Totti, Rodríguez Díaz & Fuentes, has produced distinguished alumni. A past member of the firm went on to become the Attorney General of Puerto Rico and two former partners have served as United States District Court Judges. One of the current partners was a former Undersecretary of the Department of the Treasury. The firm provides integrated services to its clients, in an attempt to assist them in furthering their business interests.
