Budapest became the capital of M&A in Central and Eastern Europe last weekend, as ECOVIS teams from across the region gathered for the annual CEE M&A Conference.

The three-day event was filled with discussions on market activity, regional business trends and future directions for our cross-border cooperation.
Our colleagues Nikodem Multan and Joanna Bobrowska had the pleasure of leading a session on our CEE strategy and joint initiatives within the network.

Huge thanks to Gyorgy Zalavari and the Hungarian team for their hospitality, flawless organisation and a programme that kept everyone inspired - and even sparked a new passion for solving Rubik’s cubes!

📢 B2B contracts under the magnifying glass of the Head of the National Revenue Administration - bogus self-employment under the spotlight!

More and more entrepreneurs are opting for flexible forms of employment, including the popular B2B contracts. However, the Head of the National Revenue Administration (KAS) the National Tax Administration warns against attempts to circumvent the regulations through so-called ‘’bogus self-employment‘’. 🚨

A B2B contract is a contract between two business entities, often found in the collaboration of one-person businesses with other entrepreneurs, such as limited liability companies. Although this form offers many advantages, one must be wary of situations that may be classified as bogus self-employment, with serious tax consequences. ⚖️

W sierpniu 2024 roku opublikowano założenia projektu ustawy, która wprowadzi ważne zmiany w przepisach dotyczących podatku dochodowego od osób fizycznych i prawnych. Nowe regulacje mają na celu uporządkowanie przepisów, eliminację wątpliwości interpretacyjnych oraz uszczelnienie systemu podatkowego. 💼💡

Projekt ustawy dotyka również istotnych kwestii związanych z restrukturyzacją – procesem, który w ostatnich latach budził wiele kontrowersji. Wprowadzone w 2023 roku nowe formy restrukturyzacji, takie jak połączenia horyzontalne czy podziały przez wyodrębnienie, miały na celu uproszczenie tych procesów dla przedsiębiorstw.

In August 2024, the assumptions of the bill were published, which will introduce important changes to personal and corporate income tax regulations. The new laws are aimed at tidying up the legislation, eliminating interpretation doubts and tightening the tax system. 💼💡

The bill also touches on important issues related to restructuring, a process that has been highly controversial in recent years. Introduced in 2023, new forms of restructuring, such as horizontal mergers or demergers by spin-off, were intended to simplify these processes for companies.
