Deadline for Filing of Income Tax Returns Extended till October 31, 2025

FBR has extended the deadline for filing of Income Tax Returns for Tax Year 2025 till October 31, 2025. This decision has been made under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. The extension in the deadline has been granted in response to requests made by various trade bodies and tax bar associations.

ایف بی آر نے مالی سال 2025 کے لئے انکم ٹیکس گوشوارے جمع کرانے کی آخری تاریخ 31 اکتوبر 2025 تک بڑھا دی ہے۔ یہ فیصلہ انکم ٹیکس آرڈیننس 2001 کے سیکشن 214Aکے تحت کیا گیا ہے۔

ایف بی آر نے انکم ٹیکس گوشوارے جمع کرانے کی تاریخ میں اضافہ کا فیصلہ مختلف تجارتی تنظیموں اور ٹیکس بار ایسوسی ایشنز کی طرف سے کی گئی درخواستوں کی بنیاد پر کیا ہے۔

1. Right to Fair Wages
Under the Minimum Wages Ordinance, employers must pay at least the government-fixed minimum wage for unskilled and skilled workers.

2. Right to Equal Opportunity
The Constitution of Pakistan (Article 25) guarantees equality before the law, and prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, or ethnicity.

3. Right to Form Unions
Workers have the legal right to form or join trade unions under the Industrial Relations Act 2012, and to engage in collective bargaining.

4. Right to Safe Working Conditions
Under the Factories Act, 1934, employers must ensure health, safety, and welfare of workers — including proper ventilation, lighting, sanitation, and safety precautions.

5. Right to Social Security
Employees are entitled to social security benefits (medical care, pensions, injury compensation) through institutions like EOBI (Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution) and SESSI (Sindh Employees Social Security Institution).

6. Right to Paid Leave
Workers are entitled to:
Annual leave (14 days)
Sick leave (10 days with full pay)
Casual leave (10 days)
Maternity leave (12 weeks) for women under the Maternity Benefits Ordinance

7. Protection Against Unlawful Dismissal
Employers must provide just cause for dismissal and follow legal procedures under the Standing Orders Ordinance, 1968.
