(Fundamental Rights)
Here are the most important rights everyone should know:
1. Right to Life & Liberty (Article 9):
No one can take your life or freedom except according to law.
•Police cannot harm or detain you without legal reason.
2. Safeguards as to Arrest & Detention (Article 10):
•You must be informed of the reason for arrest.
•You have the right to a lawyer.
•You must be produced before a court within 24 hours.
3. Right to Fair Trial (Article 10-A):
Every person has the right to a fair hearing and due process.
4. Dignity of Man (Article 14):
Your dignity and privacy are protected.
•Torture or degrading treatment is illegal.
5. Freedom of Movement (Article 15):
You can move freely anywhere in Pakistan and live where you want.
6. Freedom of Assembly (Article 16):
You can gather peacefully (meetings, protests), within legal limits.
7. Freedom of Association (Article 17):
You can form or join organizations, unions, and political parties.
8. Freedom of Speech (Article 19):
You can express your opinions, but~
•No hate speech.
•No defamation.
•Respect laws and national security.
9. Freedom of Religion (Article 20):
You are free to practice and follow your religion.
10. Equality Before Law (Article 25):
All citizens are equal—no discrimination on gender, caste, etc.
11. Right to Education (Article 25-A):
Children (5–16 years) must be given free and compulsory education.
12. Protection of Property (Article 23 & 24):
You can own property. The government cannot take it without legal process and compensation.
13. Right to Information (Article 19-A):
You can access public information (with some limits).
14. Protection Against Forced Labor (Article 11):
•No slavery
•No child labor in hazardous work.
