What is Phishing ?

Phishing is a type of social engineering attack often used to steal user data, including login credentials and credit card numbers. It occurs when an attacker, masquerading as a trusted entity, dupes a victim into opening an email, instant message, or text message. The recipient is then tricked into clicking a malicious link, which can lead to the installation of malware, the freezing of the system as part of a ransomware attack or the revealing of sensitive information.
An attack can have devastating results. For individuals, this includes unauthorized purchases, the stealing of funds, or identify theft.
Moreover, phishing is often used to gain a foothold in corporate or governmental networks as a part of a larger attack, such as an advanced persistent threat (APT) event. In this latter scenario, employees are compromised in order to bypass security perimeters, distribute malware inside a closed environment, or gain privileged access to secured data.
An organization succumbing to such an attack typically sustains severe financial losses in addition to declining market share, reputation, and consumer trust. Depending on scope, a phishing attempt might escalate into a security incident from which a business will have a difficult time recovering.

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying can occur through SMS, Text, and apps, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or share content. Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else, causing embarrassment or humiliation. Some cyberbullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behaviour.

A recent issue which caught everyone’s interest was the interview given by Sadaf Kanwal, where she shared her opinion regarding Pakistani culture and her remarks on feminism. This issue divided the internet as some people appreciated as to what was said, and some backlashed.

What needs to be addressed is that any kind of hate speech against her that ought not to be accurate, or comments which would jeopardise or compromise her dignity would invoke PECA( Preventions of Electronic Crimes Act) under Article 20.

From a legal point of view, police, body of officers representing the civil authority of government.
They play an important role as they are responsible for public order, safeguard of the general public, enforcement of law, and prevention, detection and investigation of criminal activity. These functions are known as policing. They maintain balance within the society as well as keep a check of various licensing and regulatory activities.

In recent light of events a very disturbing video has surfaced in which a policeman of Shadbagh Police Station arrested a woman and her accomplices in Baba Jatwali Gali near Bhagatpura area. However Sub- Inspector Rana Yasirs’ questionable actions of flashing his male parts by unzipping his pants on the road pose certain questions, such as; is this the law enforcement this country needs? What is the government’s hiring criteria? How can the public be in safe hands and trust the police enforcement if they themselves are causing nuisance? Furthermore what are the legal remedies in case of such occurrence?
