The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has levied a penalty of Rs150 million on Mezan Beverages (Pvt) Ltd for marketing its “Storm” energy drink in a manner that closely resembled PepsiCo’s well-known “Sting.”
The CCP found that similarities in the bottle design, colour combination, packaging and overall branding were likely to mislead consumers in violation of the Competition Act, 2010.

“Significant reform in land administration by the Board of Revenue, Punjab”

Through a notification dated 30 December 2025 issued under the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1967, the Board of Revenue has introduced a major procedural change: mutations will no longer be recorded or sanctioned on the basis of oral claims or statements, except in cases of inheritance.

All mutations involving sale, gift, mortgage, or exchange must now be supported by a properly registered document in line with the Registration Act, 1908 and the Transfer of Property Act, 1882.

This step limits discretionary practices, promotes transparency, and reinforces the rule of law in revenue matters. Revenue officers have been directed to ensure strict compliance, with disciplinary action prescribed for any breach.
