The Supreme Court of India has held that daughters, like sons, have an equal birthright to inherit joint Hindu family property. The court decided that the amended Hindu Succession Act, which gives daughters equal rights to ancestral property. This is called progressive jurisprudence where laws can be amended to changing times, will Muslim law ever evolve to this? Can a divine law be held suspended?

It is a relief to see that IHC has dismissed frivolous PILs filed against the construction of first Hindu Temple of Lord Krishna in Isloo, in country's 73 years of history. what remains to be seen is how the govt of Imran Khan deals with religio fanatics and propaganda. nonetheless a step in right direction.

There is a Writ (PIL) in SCI, which prays to quash a part of article 2 of Indian constitution, which gives Union of India, its names, Hindustan, India and Bharat, the prayer says since India is a greek name, therefore, the only acceptable names are Bharat and Hindustan. the SCI has asked Center for Representation in the matter. However, the interesting fact is that India word is derived from Indie, which referred to Indus river, hence the name for people of Indus river, Indie. geographically and legally both ways, Pakistan is more or less the same land of Indus or the ancient India, hence the legacy of the ancient India belongs to Pakistan, We the people of Pakistan are the true owners of the name India, whereas the Union of India is a legacy of British India, or if they wish Bharat as their part is referred as Bharat in history. I understand India is an impostor name for Bharat/Hindustan and they do not have the geography or legacy to take the name. One must remember that Mr. Jinnah also took up this issue at time of Independence. Should we not have a claim on our ancient name?

State of J & K (which included Ladakh) acceded to Indian Union through instrument of accession, which was consolidated and codified by Article 370 through special amendment 35A, which today India repealed and divided J & K into two union territories; Ladakh as non-legislative and J&K as legislative union territory, effectively ending the autonomous status of Kashmir and region.
