📢 NCCPL Revises Capital Gain Tax (CGT) & Super Tax (ST) Mechanism for Tax Year 2026

The National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) has announced significant changes in the computation and collection of Capital Gain Tax (CGT) and Super Tax (ST) for Tax Year 2026.

🔹 Key Changes

✔️ No Super Tax where CGT is not payable
NCCPL will no longer compute or collect Super Tax on net capital gains where no CGT arises due to the holding period.

✔️ Separate Collection of CGT & ST
CGT will not be adjusted against Super Tax liabilities. Any excess CGT collected will be refunded separately, regardless of any outstanding ST obligation.

📌 Who Will Be Affected?
• Individual Investors
• Clearing Members (CMs)
• Asset Management Companies (AMCs)
• Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) Participants

⚠️ These changes will apply to the entire Tax Year 2026 and will be reflected during the year-end tax computation process.

This development brings greater clarity to capital market taxation and aligns tax collection procedures with the latest judicial directions.
