Hi, everyone. As all of you must know, India is quite literally struggling to breathe and is at the brink of insurmountable devastation. The scenes around are heartbreaking, as the country is crippling under a virulent second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In collaboration with the LSE SU South Asia Society — we have started a fundraiser which will support 5 grassroots organisations in India that are currently working on providing different kinds of Covid Relief work.

We are in a race against time, and every donation counts. We need your support, so please contribute as generously as you would like to fight this catastrophe.

You can make the donation here:

We proudly stand with our brothers and sisters back home for the advancement of student rights. Their protest yesterday is an example to activists, students and citizens of democracy across the world. We look forward to working with the Progressive Students Collective and other student groups under the inclusive banner of the Student Action Committee to push for the change our best and brightest need and deserve.

The Pakistan International Students Alliance would like to formally publish this Open Letter Petition, which endorses the Student’s Solidarity March on November 29th and urges the government to repeal the 1984 ban on student unions.

This petition is undersigned by Presidents of Pakistan Societies across the world who represent tens of thousands of Pakistani students on four different continents.

We stand with our brothers and sisters back home in Pakistan and will work actively in the coming months to ensure that their demands are met, so they may access the same opportunities that we have the privilege to enjoy abroad. The country we call home will be better for it.

Pakistan Zindabad!

Over the past year, the Pakistan International Student Alliance's student members from across the world have worked with each other to construct programs and institutions that can improve Pakistan's political discourse.

PISA is pleased to announce that one of its student projects, PakistanFact - Pakistan's first institutionalized fact-checker which seeks to check the veracity of claims made by Pakistan's political class - is now under the ownership of PILDAT, one of Pakistan's most prestigious think tanks which focuses on political transparency and legislative development.

Congratulations to our members who constructed this program, and best wishes to PILDAT's future with the project. It is our hope that programs such as these can play some role in the institution building that is integral to the maintenance and development of Pakistan's political discourse.

Dear Members,

We are so excited to share that we have already received an overwhelming number of submissions for the Future of Pakistan Journal! We would like to sincerely express our gratitude towards all those who have already sent in their research pieces, and encourage those who are interested in contributing to this coveted international platform, to be published by the London School of Economics Press, under the patronage of the honourable Dr. Ishrat Hussain.

As researchers, we can understand the many frustrations that academicians from the Global South face to get published in internationally recognised journals. The idea of the Future of Pakistan Journal is to proudly feature original research rooted in Pakistan as an independent site of Knowledge Production and critical thinking on a global platform, so that our academic pursuits, especially those of students and young researchers, are neither side-lined nor co-opted.

We would like to remind all those interested to send in their submissions by 15th January 2019 at [email protected].

Looking forward to reading your submissions!
