25th January, Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day
BSC ISLAMABAD
On 25 January, BSC Islamabad observes Baloch Genocide Day to remember the collective suffering of the Baloch people and to raise our voice against decades of systematic violence, repression, and erasure inflicted upon Baloch society. This day stands as a painful reminder of the countless lives lost and the ongoing policies that threaten the very existence, identity, and dignity of the Baloch Nation.
For decades, Balochistan has been subjected to militarization, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective punishment, and economic exploitation. Entire Baloch Nation have been traumatized and generations forced to live under constant fear and insecurity. These acts are not random or accidental but they reflect a sustained pattern of state violence that amounts to genocide under international legal and moral standards.
BSC Islamabad strongly condemns the continued denial and silence surrounding these crimes. The absence of accountability, coupled with censorship and intimidation which has allowed the suffering of the Baloch people to continue unchecked. Mass graves and enforced disappearances are grim realities that cannot be dismissed or erased from history.
On Baloch Genocide Day, we demand an immediate end to all policies of repression in Balochistan. We call for independent international investigations into human rights violations, the safe recovery of all enforcedly disappeared and justice for the victims of extrajudicial killings. We further demand that the voices of Baloch people be heard and their right to live with peace, dignity, and self-respect be recognized.
