As per instructions received from SBP Head Office, all import collection documents under CAD, D/P, D/A etc (other than Letter of Credit) bearing date of shipment on B/L after 31 Dec 2022 will not be entertained by the bank. Kindly advise your customers not to submit their said import documents with shipment dates after 31 Dec 2022.

ALL TYPE OF IMPORT GOING TO STOPS FOR NEXT 3 MONTHS.

Pre Guidelines For Oversea Pakistani Only
Wishing to Export a vehicle 🚗 to Pakistan from Abroad by travelling into their Home land and bring a vehicle in Baggage scheme (OVER 180 DAYS), from any where in the World* to gifting it to their loved ones while staying abroad at their convenience!

Firstly, by starting on a good note subject oversea Pakistani NICOP (issued by: NADRA) should be valid and have OVER 700 DAYS ABROAD on the Passport to be eligible in all 3 schemes designed by GOP, FBR & Custom House, Pakistan 🇵🇰 for oversea Pakistani residents to avail at their convenience.

Three Schemes designed by GOP, FBR.

Basic Rules for all Schemes:

3 Years old cars allowed
5 Years old Jeeps / 4x4 / SUV / Motor Bike allowed. (Any vehicle other than car allowed)

Amount of complete vehicle Custom Duty should be verified through PRC (Proceeding realisation certificate) issued by Consignee local Bank 🏦 in Pakistan 🇵🇰 in collaboration with NBP / SBP ordinances.

PRC certificate is issued by Bank in any city of Pakistan once Oversea Pakistani initiates a regularised Payment from abroad Bank Account to Pakistan Bank Account for the purpose of Custom Duty payment for specific vehicle as per Vin number.

PRC amount should be equivalent to the Vehicle Total Customs Duty amount in PKR when converted from Abroad currency 💴

7-10 days demurrage free is being offered by Terminals at Karachi Port Trust (KPT) including government and private operational terminals such as KPT / NLC, PICT, KICT, Al-Hamd Intl Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (AICT) & even QICT @ Port Qasim.

Must confirm from Customs Clearing & Forwarding Agency, e.g. “Mohammad Enterprises” in Karachi, before submitting final information to your shipper abroad. All is case sensitive information on Bill of Lading (B/L) specially Consignee name and Notify Party, Shipping line Manifestation, along with vehicle complete details including chassis number and manufacturing check. We recommend to always prepare draft B/L and once we confirm proceed with Original House B/Ls & Master B/Ls....

Give Instructions to your Shipper to unload your vehicle at port of destination and treat as LCL cargo and not FCL cargo; until and unless you want the whole container delivered to your door step unopened! e.g. Prestigious or Expensive Vehicle or Household Goods / Personal effects. Container rent known as “line detention” charges have to be additionally paid in case of FCL cargo.

If any other product, spare part, dog feed or even charitable Blanket / Bedsheets are put in the vehicle alongside than they will be applicable on separate Customs duty for clearance.

1. Baggage Scheme (OVER 180 DAYS)

Must have minimum 6 months consecutive stay abroad according to the day count report of Passport, conducted by customs clearing agent to check eligibility.

Oversea Pakistani must travel to Pakistan in this scheme and prove a valid entry stamp into Pakistan 🇵🇰 and allowed to do so once in 2 years.

If already arrived in Pakistan must not be over 120 days to avail this opportunity.

Oversea Pakistani Original passport will be endorsed for Vehicle clearance by Custom House, Karachi.

Oversea Pakistani must have his own Bank account in Pakistan or can transfer funds to his blood relatives to obtain PRC certificate from Banks 🏦 in Pakistan.

2. Gift Scheme (OVER 700 DAYS)

This scheme is specially designed keeping in consideration the busy lifestyle of peoples who cannot travel to Pakistan 🇵🇰 due to their commitments Abroad and wish to Gift a vehicle in Pakistan to their blood relatives including Mother / Father, Brothers & Sisters. Husband & Wife can also inter exchange vehicle 🚙Gifts while sitting Abroad at their convenience.

Oversea Pakistani must obtain a list of documents from Pakistan Consulate and complete the “application to import vehicle for personal use or as gift to family member in Pakistan”.

Once Gift Undertaking, Certificate issued by the Pakistan Diplomatic Mission & Affidavit are ready and duly signed & attested by the Consulate General of Pakistan, shipment can be made by local shipper to KPT (Karachi Port Trust) or many private Terminals in Karachi, PAKISTAN 🇵🇰

The Consignee on B/L in Pakistan will be the relative / family member of Oversea Pakistani Abroad. His / Her Original valid CNIC will be required for clearance of vehicle from Karachi port along with a FRC (Family relation certificate) issued by NADRA. **

Once in 2 years Oversea Pakistani can gift a vehicle to his Blood relative.

PRC certificate will also be issued by blood relative’s Bank 🏦 account in Pakistan.

3. Transfer of Residence (TR) Scheme
(OVER 700 DAYS)

This scheme is for Oversea Pakistani residents transferring from Abroad to their home land Pakistan 🇵🇰
There are many duty free products in this scheme which oversea Pakistani can avail by shipping a 20ft or 40ft container as Household Goods and Personal Effects in separate container. NOT allowed along side with vehicle in same container.
Unfortunately Vehicle Custom duty will be same and accessed by examination officer as per active SROs, assigned by Custom House Karachi, Government of Pakistan.
