I recently represented the defendant in a family suit concerning separate accommodation, medical expenses, and maintenance. The plaintiff claimed Rs. 20,000 per month as past and future maintenance for herself and each minor, along with alleged medical expenses of Rs. 500,000.

During the proceedings, I effectively conducted the cross-examination of the plaintiff, challenging her claims particularly the alleged medical expenses, and regarding defendant asses which she failed to substantiate. I argued in final submissions that maintenance must be determined in accordance with the defendant’s financial capacity as well as the actual needs of the minors. I further emphasized that the burden of proof lies upon the plaintiff, which she did not discharge satisfactorily.

Today, the Hon’ble Court 11th Family Judge Malir announced its judgment. The suit was partially decreed:

The plaintiff’s claim for past and future maintenance was declined.

Past maintenance for the minors was awarded at Rs. 2,000 each.

Future maintenance for the minors was fixed at Rs. 5,000 each.

This outcome is the results of Hardworking and sincerely to our professional duty by legal research and well-reasoned legal arguments in ensuring this outcome in family law matters particularly where the rights of minors and equitable financial obligations are involved.
