Shehri FOI

Shehri FOI Right to Information Unfortunately, the country lags behind in its use even after it was promulgated as an act.

Article 19A of the Constitution of Pakistan states:

"Right to information—Every citizen shall have the right to have access to information in all matters of public importance subject to regulation and reasonable restrictions imposed by law"

Pakistan was the first South-Asian Country to adopt this law through an Ordinance during General Pervez Musharraf's rule. Right to information act has helped

people across the world to legally question the decisions made by the government as well as the state. The answers retrieved from the government and state have immense legal value and can be used in the courts for fighting corruption, money laundering and inefficiency. Use your right and help the government and state improve themselves for greater good. It is not a matter of choice but is indeed your responsibility as a citizen!
