FBR Circular Update: Section 236C Exemption for Section 7F Taxpayers

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued Circular No. 08 of 2025-26 IR-Policy dated 15th April 2026, superseding Circular No. 7 of 2025-26 dated 31st March 2026, to clarify that builders/developers taxed under Section 7F with no other taxable income can seek exemption from Section 236C withholding tax on sale of immovable property.

Eligible taxpayers may apply to the Commissioner under Section 159, and if no action is taken within 7 working days, IRIS will auto-issue the exemption certificate.

Alhamdulillah ✅

As per the latest update by Federal Board of Revenue (Sales Tax General Order 01 of 2026), the 72 hours edit/cancellation option has now been updated on the FBR system.

📌 Now, invoices can be edited, deleted, or cancelled within 72 hours of generation directly through the system.

The update has been successfully implemented and is working properly.
