Dress code for Law Students and Apprentice/Pupil has been changed.

The Pakistan Bar Council has added a new Rule 108-C
(6) to the Pakistan Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Rules, 1976, outlining the uniform and conduct for law students and apprentices:-

Uniform for Male students:
White shirt, gray coat, maroon tie.
Female students: Gray coat with maroon dupatta/shawl/ scarf-

Male apprentices: White shirt, black coat, maroon tie.
Female apprentices: Black coat with maroon dupatta/ shawl/scarf.

Law students attending court for research must adhere to the prescribed dress code-
Students and apprentices are prohibited from campaigning or participating in Bar Council and Bar Association elections.

In case of Non-Compliance:
Complaints to the Bar Council: If proven, the apprenticeship period may be extended to 12 months.
Complaints to the institution: If proven, the apprenticeship period may be extended to 18 months.

HEC is conducting Law Admission Test (LAT) for admissions in five year undergraduate LLB degree in Private and Public Sector Universities.

A panel of 15 judges, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, delivered a verdict after five consecutive hearings, affirming that the The Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Act aligns with the Constitution by 10-5 majority.

The judgment dictates that the right to appeal won't be applicable retroactively. The provision aiming to apply the right to appeal to past decisions was invalidated by an 8-7 majority, with the chief justice opposing the decision.

The right to appeal with regards to sou moto cases has been maintained with a 9-6 majority.
