By allowing increased political involvement in the judicial appointment process, the amendment risks compromising the impartiality of the courts. Such interference threatens the foundational principle of the separation of powers, jeopardizing both the rule of law and public confidence in the judiciary. A transparent, merit-based system for appointments is crucial to maintaining judicial integrity and ensuring justice is fair and accessible to all citizens.
