Senior Advocate Azizuddin Qureshi Passes Away

KARACHI: Senior advocate Azizuddin Qureshi has passed away, bringing sorrow to the legal fraternity. His death was mourned by colleagues and members of the legal community, who remembered him for his services to the profession.
Qureshi was elected several times as a member of the Managing Committee of the Sondh High Court Bar Association, where he remained associated with the affairs and activities of the legal community.
The news of his demise was received with grief among lawyers, with colleagues expressing condolences to the bereaved family and praying for the departed soul.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un” — Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.

کراچی بار ایسوسی ایشن کے سالانہ انتخابات کے باعث 11 جولائی کو عدالتی کارروائیاں مؤخر کرنے کی درخواست

کراچی بار ایسوسی ایشن کے الیکشن کمشنر و ایڈمنسٹریٹر، بیرسٹر ذوالفقار علی خان جلبانی نے کراچی کے تمام ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشن ججز کو ایک باضابطہ درخواست ارسال کی ہے، جس میں 11 جولائی 2026 کو ہونے والے کراچی بار ایسوسی ایشن کے سالانہ انتخابات کے پیش نظر عدالتی کارروائیاں معطل رکھنے اور وکلا کی عدم حاضری کی صورت میں کسی بھی مقدمے میں منفی یا یکطرفہ حکم جاری نہ کرنے کی استدعا کی گئی ہے۔

درخواست میں مؤقف اختیار کیا گیا ہے کہ انتخابات کے روز وکلا کی بڑی تعداد انتخابی عمل میں مصروف ہوگی، جس کے باعث عدالتوں میں پیش ہونا ممکن نہیں ہوگا۔ اس لیے انصاف کے تقاضوں کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے عدالتی کارروائی مؤخر کرنے کی درخواست کی گئی ہے تاکہ وکلا اپنے جمہوری حقِ رائے دہی میں حصہ لے سکیں اور مؤکلین کے مفادات بھی متاثر نہ ہوں۔

The Karachi Bar Association has announced the schedule for candidates to address members ahead of the Annual Elections 2025–2026.

Candidate speeches are set to occur from 6 July to 9 July 2026, with specific time slots allocated for each office, including Members Managing Committee (MMC), Vice President, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian, President, and General Secretary. Each candidate will have 3 to 5 minutes to share their vision and priorities with the legal fraternity.

This initiative fosters transparency, informed decision-making, and meaningful engagement between candidates and members, enabling voters to assess the leadership aspirations and plans of those contesting the elections.

Wishing all candidates the best and encouraging members to actively participate in this significant democratic process.
