For what purpose kashmir committee formed? Whats the duty of this committee? Lets find the answers of these questions,
Constitution of kashmir committee,
The present Special Committee of the National Assembly was constituted by the Assembly through a motion on 19th August, 2008. The Committee held its first meeting on 16th September, 2008 and unanimously elected Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman, MNA its Chairman. He has been accorded status of Federal Minister.

What are the duties of this committee?
The duties of this committee are,
1) To monitor human rights violations and atrocities being committed by the Indian Forces in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
2) To increase awareness within as well as outside the country about the Kashmir issue.
3) To mobilize World opinion in support of the cause of right of self determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as well as the principle stand of Pakistan.
4) To solicit and provide political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for their right of self determination in accordance with the U.N. resolutions.
5) To monitor the performance of the Organizations working on Kashmir and to provide guidance whenever required.
and
6) To consider and decide such other issues and matters, relating to above which may be referred to it by the House from time to time.
