A bill is being introduced in the Assembly to Section 41 of the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973, which would revoke the license of a protesting advocate for life. Behind this, the silence of the officials of Pakistan Bar Council and Provincial Bar Councils is regrettable that they are behind this proposed amendment. The members of the Provincial Bar Councils and the elected by the votes of the lawyers should make their position clear and the government should also take note. If any such amendment is attempted in the act, the government should remember that the lawyers were united, are united and know how to take away their rights by the government, if the Provincial Bar Councils and Pakistan Bar Council are behind this amendment, lawyers will besiege such representatives. Lawyers across Pakistan should stay awake and keep an eye on their representatives including the government. The proposed amendment to Section 41 will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
