Nostos or homecoming. This is the heroic achievement of Odysseus. It is something that Achilles never had. Agamemnon almost got it but not really. Nostos is the mythos that I used in understanding Filipino migrant stories. I viewed many of them as an Inverted Odyssey. Inverted in the sense that things are inverted in capitalism. But also narratologically inverted because the migrants' homecoming is often not that epic.

This work on adventure and homecoming in women's care work is connected to my other work on the international law of migration, which is included in my book, Interdisciplinary Legal Studies (2025). The chapter surveys international legal thought on movement from the view point of Deleuze's critique of representational thinking. It ultimately calls for a "regulated" free movement for ALL. Free Movement should never be monopolized by Holders of the Passports of the Global North.
