CPC - COL students take oath as Level 2 LSPs
Roxas City, Capiz
On August 12, 2025, twelve (12) students from Batch Sui Generis of Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion - College of Law (CPC - COL) have officially taken their oath as Level 2 Certified Law Student Practitioners (LSPs) under the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP).
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Executive Judge Lorencito B. Diaz, in accordance with Rule 138-A of the Rules of Court, which authorizes qualified law students to engage in limited practice of law under the supervision of accredited lawyers.
With their new certification, the students are now authorized to perform all activities under level 1 certification, assist in the taking of depositions and/or preparing judicial affidavits of witnesses, appear on behalf of the client at any stage of the proceedings or trial, before any court, quasi-judicial or administrative body, in criminal cases, subject to the provisions of Section 5, Rule 110 of the Rules of Court, to appear on behalf of a government agency in the prosecution of criminal actions, in appealed cases, to prepare the pleadings required in the case, and perform other legal services as part of the CLEP, aimed at enhancing experiential learning while promoting access to justice, particularly for marginalized sectors.
The CLEP, as mandated by the Legal Education Board and the Supreme Court, bridges the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, fostering a deeper understanding of legal advocacy, client relations, and public service.
The students were also joined by the Dean of the CPC - COL, Atty. Alberto L. Deslate, Academic Head, Atty. Maria Leobeth B. Deslate-Delicana, and CLEP Supervisers, Atty. Daniel Al B. Delfin and Atty. Elica Mariz D. Fuentes.
