VAWC is a public crime. Any citizen with personal knowledge of the circumstances may file a complaint, not just the victim.

Philippine Commission on Women – Gender and Development Resource Pool member Atty. Judie Rose Tugado Dimayuga has urged victims of abuse to come forward and seek help from government agencies and accredited private institutions. Dimayuga emphasized that survivors are fully protected under Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004.

JRTD Law Office is honored to have been tapped by Maya Philippines, Inc. to conduct a Safe Spaces Act Forum as part of the company’s drive to foster an inclusive and harassment-free workplace.

The session, led by Atty. Judie Rose Tugado Dimayuga, covered Republic Act No. 7877, Republic Act No. 11313, and other relevant laws and policies, highlighting protections against harassment in public spaces, workplaces, online, and educational institutions.

Maya integrates the laws' principles into daily practice through zero tolerance for harassment, regular training, a trusted CODI with women leadership, and safe reporting channels.
