LENT AND THE LEGAL PROFESSION
As we enter this period of reflection, we are reminded of the principles that defines our faith in the field of law—a season that calls upon us to reflect on our personal and professional journeys, and to reaffirm our commitment to justice, service, and the common good.
This is a period to introspect and rekindle our dedication to upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of the marginalized and the oppressed. May we also seek to fast from judgment and prejudice; to pray for wisdom and courage in our pursuit of justice; and to give generously our time and expertise to promote peace and equity in our society. As guardians of justice, we need not be reminded that our actions have such a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.
This Lenten season, let us also find strength in our unity as a community of legal professionals. Together, we can support one another in our Lenten journey—sharing the burdens and challenges we face, and working collaboratively to build a more just and compassionate nation.
As Easter finally approaches, may we all find a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration guided by the principles we cherish as members of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines—principles that will lead us to make impactful contributions to our country and to our fellow citizens.
