HOW TO USE “STUDY MODE” IN 10 MINUTES
(Ask Atty PoL — Labor Law Made Easy®)

Many followers of our Labor Law Made Easy FB Page have asked:

“How do I actually use your Custom GPT to study labor law, step-by-step?”

Let us start with the most important and beginner-friendly feature:

Study Mode.

If you have about 10 minutes, you can already use Study Mode to understand one basic labor law topic more clearly.

STEP 1: ACCESS THE TOOL

1. Go to the FB Page: Labor Law Made Easy®.

2. Click the LEARN MORE button near the Page bio.

3. This will open:

Ask Atty PoL — Labor Law Made Easy® (Custom GPT)

on the OpenAI (ChatGPT) platform.

Make sure you are logged in to ChatGPT so you can interact with the tool.



STEP 2: START WITH A SIMPLE INTRODUCTION

When the tool opens, you may begin with a short introduction about yourself so that Study Mode can tailor its explanations to your level.

For example:

• “I am an HR assistant in a small company. Please explain concepts in simple terms.”

• “I am reviewing for the bar and I want a more advanced discussion.”

• “I am an employee who just wants to understand the basics.”

You can type something like:

“I am an HR officer with basic knowledge of labor law. Please adjust your explanations to my level.”

This helps Study Mode decide whether to use very simple explanations or more advanced discussions.



STEP 3: ACTIVATE STUDY MODE

After your short introduction, you can now activate Study Mode.

Type a prompt like:

• “Activate Study Mode and teach me the basics of illegal dismissal.”

• “Activate Study Mode and explain probationary employment for beginners.”

• “Activate Study Mode and give me an overview of just causes and authorized causes for termination.”

If you prefer Tagalog or Taglish:

• “Activate Study Mode and explain in Tagalog the basic rights of a probationary employee.”

• “Activate Study Mode and teach me in Taglish the difference between regular and fixed-term employment.”

The tool should confirm that Study Mode is active and then start teaching your chosen topic.



STEP 4: ASK FOR A SIMPLE EXPLANATION FIRST

In your first 2–3 minutes, let the tool give you a simple, high-level explanation.

You may add:

• “Please explain this to me like I am new to HR.”

• “Use simple language and practical examples.”

• “Give me a short, overview-level explanation first.”

Example prompt:

“Activate Study Mode and explain in simple terms what ‘constructive dismissal’ means for employees.”

The goal of this step is not to memorize everything, but to get a clear big picture.



STEP 5: REQUEST PRACTICAL EXAMPLES AND SCENARIOS

To make the law more concrete, ask for realistic workplace scenarios (still hypothetical and anonymized).

Sample prompts:

• “Give me 3 sample scenarios where termination is considered illegal.”

• “Give 3 examples of probationary employment arrangements that are compliant with the law.”

• “Explain, through examples, when a suspension might become constructive dismissal.”

In Taglish:

• “Bigyan mo ako ng 3 practical examples ng constructive dismissal sa Taglish, for HR beginners.”

Within a few minutes, you will see how the legal concept appears in real workplace situations.



STEP 6: ASK FOR A SHORT OUTLINE OR CHEAT SHEET

Once you have a basic understanding, ask Study Mode to summarize the topic in outline form. This is very useful for review and for building your own notes.

Sample prompts:

• “Summarize our discussion in bullet points for quick review.”

• “Make a one-page outline of the key rules on probationary employment.”

• “Create a short ‘cheat sheet’ for HR officers about illegal dismissal.”

You may then copy this outline to your own notes, Google Docs, or notebook.



STEP 7: TEST YOURSELF WITH A QUICK QUIZ

A very effective use of Study Mode within 10 minutes is to ask for questions to test your understanding.

Example prompts:

• “Ask me 5 multiple-choice questions about what we just discussed, and then tell me if my answers are correct.”

• “Give me a short quiz on the basic rules on suspension and dismissal.”

STEP 8: CLARIFY ANY CONFUSING PARTS

STEP 9: ASK FOR RECOMMENDED NEXT TOPICS
