24 March, Tahanan Sta. Luisa, Rizal — In line with the observance of Women’s Month, the Judge Advocate General's Service (JAGS) Reserve, in partnership with the Commission on Appointments (CA), conducted an outreach initiative aimed at empowering abused women through legal assistance, community engagement, and advocacy for the protection of rights.
Beyond its traditional legal mandate, the JAGS Reserve continues to advance mission accomplishment while strengthening community engagement—standing with abused women and supporting their efforts to reclaim their dignity, voice, and strength.
In furtherance of this initiative, COL JESSICA ANNE MARGUERRITE R LACSON-HIZON JAGS (GSC) (RES) and LTC ALLESANDRA FAY V ALBARICO JAGS (RES) of the JAGS Reserve, together with LTC VLADIMIR T MATA PN(M) MNSA (RES), Chairperson, GAD Focal Point Sytem (GFPS) of the Commission on Appointments (CA), actively participated in the activity. The team engaged directly with beneficiaries, providing a forum for concerns often unarticulated and addressing issues arising from circumstances of abuse and vulnerability.
As JAGS Reserve lawyers, COL LACSON-HIZON and LTC ALBARICO rendered legal assistance and guidance consistent with applicable laws and established legal frameworks, ensuring that the rights of affected individuals are recognized, protected, and properly addressed.
The activity underscores the expanding role of the JAGS Reserve in delivering legal services beyond conventional military functions and into community-based legal support, reflecting the core character of Reserve service as citizen-soldiers committed to both national defense and community welfare.
The initiative affirms the continuing commitment of the JAGS Reserve to uphold the rule of law, advance accountability, and ensure that no individual is deprived of legal protection or the opportunity to be heard.
