On this , our hearts are with the communities affected by the recent of Mt. Kanlaon in Negros. The eruption has triggered mass evacuations, threatened agricultural stability, and caused economic disruption across the region. Of particular concern is the contamination of local water sources with sulfur in several villages.
Recent data from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) reveal alarming levels of (SO2) emissions in various regions, including Mindanao, , and notably, certain parts of Southern Luzon and Visayas. The presence of SO2 poses a to public health, particularly for individuals with respiratory conditions or compromised immune systems.
