On the eve of August 9, 2024, a doctor trainee in a state-run hospital in Kolkata, India was brutally r***d and murdered while resting after a gruelling 36-hour shift.

The incident sparked a widespread protest accross the whole of India and has attracted a lot of attention worldwide.
