The Unified Legal Aid Service (ULAS) Board has issued ULAS Advisory No. 1, S. 2026, which informs all lawyers of the scheduled launch of the ULAS Portal – Phase 1 on March 3, 2026.

The ULAS Portal refers to the centralized online platform that will be used for purposes of reporting and monitoring compliance with the ULAS Rules and the Manual. Upon the launch of Phase 1, registered organizations may already submit their manifestations of intent to aggregate, and applicants may apply for pre-accreditation or post-accreditation of legal outreach programs and legal missions through the Portal.

All lawyers are advised that access to the ULAS Portal requires an active PJP account.

LOOK: The Department of Finance (DOF) is supporting House Bill 6614, extending the Estate Tax Amnesty until December 31, 2028 to give more Filipino families the opportunity to settle obligations on inherited properties.

Imposed under the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC), the estate tax is a one-time payment for the legal transfer of ownership of a deceased person’s assets to their lawful heirs and beneficiaries.

By providing an Estate Tax Amnesty, the DOF aims to grant relief to families unable to formalize inheritance because of financial and other constraints.

Ang coverage nito ay simula 2nd quarter ng taong 2024 at pababa kung saan aalisin ang nag-accrue na interes sa utang sa amilyar.

𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲! 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱!

Proclamation No. 425 declares 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 as a special non-working day to give people "the full opportunity to celebrate the holiday with their families and loved ones."

Proclamation No. 90, Series of 2023, declares the 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 and 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 (𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴) 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 for December 2023.

Employees covered by the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 are entitled to 100% of their minimum wage rate if they did not report for work, provided they are present or are on leave of absence with pay on the work day immediately preceding the holiday.

Work performed on that day merits at least (200%) the daily wage of the employee.

Meanwhile, work performed on a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆 merits additional compensation of at least thirty percent (30%) of the basic wage or a total of one hundred thirty percent (130%).

Work performed on a special day falling on a rest day merits additional compensation of at least fifty percent (50%) of the basic wage or a total of one hundred fifty percent (150%).
