ALHAMDULILLAH! Pumbaya Law participated in the 3-Day Continuing Shari’ah Legal Education (CSLE) held on June 11–13, 2026 at Acacia Hotel, Davao City.

The program was truly fruitful and enriching. Aside from revisiting and strengthening our foundational knowledge in Shari’ah law and practice, the participants gained new insights on developments in Shari’ah court jurisdictions and procedures and explored practical solutions to contemporary challenges faced in Shari’ah legal practice today.

This continuing legal education serves as a reminder of our responsibility to continuously learn, improve, and uphold excellence in serving the community through competent and ethical Shari’ah practice.

Our sincere gratitude to Attorney General's Office-BARMM for the invitation and for organizing a meaningful and insightful program.

Alhamdulillah for the knowledge gained and connections built.

A gentle reminder: refrain from comparing your answers with other bar takers so you will not be overwhelmed with worry. Remember, it is the examiner who will check your exam — not us. 😇

Congratulations, brave souls and future defenders of justice. You have survived the first day. Alhamdulillah!

Please take time to rest tonight. Your mind and body need recovery. Tomorrow is another day for preparation, In shaa ALLAH.

Learn to let go of what has already been written. Trust in divine intervention and place your reliance upon ALLAH. Through His mercy, your answers may appear correct in the eyes of the examiner.

Remain humble, keep making du’a, and continue submitting yourselves to ALLAH. 🤲🫂

"MARRIAGE, IN ITS TRUEST FORM, MUST BE A SANCTUARY, A SPACE OF MUTUAL LOVE, RESPECT, CARE, AND EMOTIONAL SAFETY"

The Supreme Court (SC), speaking through Associate Justice Maria Filomena Singh, stressed that while marriage remains the foundation of the family and an inviolable social institution that the State is duty-bound to protect, courts cannot ignore the realities faced by individuals trapped in unions with psychologically incapacitated spouses.

This came after the SC Third Division declared a marriage null and void on the ground of the husband's psychological incapacity, citing his abusive and possessive behavior toward his wife, coupled with his lack of direction and ambition in life.

The highest bench underscored that marriage, in its truest form, must serve as a sanctuary marked by mutual respect, care, and emotional safety. It emphasized that marriage should never become a chain that binds a person to a relationship that is fundamentally flawed and emotionally damaging.

While recognizing that the ideal is for individuals to choose wisely in love and commitment, the Court acknowledged that human beings are not infallible and can make mistakes in choosing their life partners.
