Assalamo 'Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh! Ramadhan al-Mubārak to all.

إنّا للّه و إنّا إليه راجعون.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Shari'ah Counselor Abdulbassit M. Abolhusain and Shari'ah Counselor Acmalin S. Macabantog، JD – bright, newly minted members of the Shari'ah legal profession whose promising journeys were cut short far too soon.

Mr. Abdulbassit M Abolhusain returned to the mercy of ALLAH yesterday, 26 February 2026 | 8 Ramadhan 1447H, while Mr. Ac Ma passed away today, 27 February 2026 | 9 Ramadhan 1447H.

Their departure during this holy month reminds us of life's fleeting nature, yet we take solace in the belief that ALLAH The Almighty bestows special mercy upon those who return to Him in Ramadhan. Though their time in the profession was brief, their passion for justice, their respect for Shari'ah, and their genuine care for others have left a lasting impression on all who knew them.

Mr. Abolhusain and Mr. Macabantog were both graduates of MSU - King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies, having obtained the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies major in Shari'ah, and Bachelor of Science in International Relations, respectively. Mr. Macabantog went further on his studies and subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor degree.

Mr. Abolhusain passed the 2024 Special Shari'ah Bar Exams, while Mr. Macabantog was admitted to the Philippine Shari'ah Bar in 2018.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives they touched. May ALLAH The Almighty accept their deeds, forgive their sins, grant them a place in the highest ranks of Jannah (Ferdaws), and provide strength and patience to their loved ones as they grieve during this sacred time.
