"Although the attack was sudden and without any warning, treachery cannot be said to have existed. It does not follow that because the attack is sudden and unexpected, it is tainted with treachery. The accused was provoked when he was teased by the victim. He was offended when he was called "ugly" and "mukhang kriminal." The provocation negated the presence of treachery."

PASAY CITY, 14 August 2024 - The National Privacy Commission (NPC) released the guidelines on personal data processing based on Section 13 (f) of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA). The NPC Advisory No. 2024-02, dated August 12, 2024, clarifies the application of this provision as basis for processing personal data.

The Supreme Court has disbarred a lawyer for having multiple extramarital affairs.

The Court found him guilty of grossly immoral conduct, in violation of the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA).

Under Canon VI, Section 33(f) of the CPRA, grossly immoral conduct, a serious offense, is an โ€œact that is so corrupt or false as to constitute a criminal act.โ€
